The majority of my work is oil on canvas, linen and panels. I work with a combination of knife and brush, focusing on personal imagery:
people I know, places I have visited or historic images that have meaning for me.
My ancestry (original maiden name, Azadian) and roots in Armenian history are the catalysts for my current body of work, “A History
Ignored”. In 2011, this series exhibited in Boston at Galatea Fine Art, Resnikoff Gallery, and Arsenal Center for the Arts, Watertown. I
intend to grow this body of work and prepare for an exhibit in 2015, the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
For me, this work has uncovered my previously unknown Armenian roots and connection to the Armenian Diaspora. The power of images from the
art community has historically moved our society; my work serves to inform and honor the history and numerous contributions of the
Armenian culture.
